The chances were high Chris was going to have an interest in motorsport, from his birth there has always been a race car of some sort in the family garage.
Right from the time he could walk he has been attending motorsport meetings, watching his father compete from grass roots club level racing thru to National Race meetings. At the age of twelve while at Farm Cove Intermediate Chris got his first kart and the interest in motorsport rapidly became a passion.
He continued to race karts right through his years at Pakuranga College also successfully achieving his NCEA level1 & Level 2 and represented his school at two North Island inter school kart championships.
In 2008 Chris took a gap year from studies working at The Gearbox Factory (who coincidentally are the nominated repairer of gearboxes for the NZV8 Ute series) whilst deciding on a university path.
He also started racing in the Mazda Rx7 Pro7 Plus Series finishing 2nd in his first season also picking up Rookie of the Year. In 2009 he attended Auckland Unitec completing the first year of his national diploma in Quantity Surveying.
Chris is now working at Macrennie Construction as a Qunatity Surveyor, he has graduated from his national diploma and is also attending Unitec to complete his Bachelor of Construction this year. He finished 2nd in the NZ V8 Ute series last year and this year he is hoping to go one better.
